The Challenge
In a continuously operating high-throughput warehouse distribution centre, every dock bay must function flawlessly. This installation required a hydraulic pit leveler for reliable dock leveling and a commercial sectional door with vision panels for forklift operator visibility before opening.
The Solution
Wilcox Door Service installed a Metrodock hydraulic pit-style dock leveler at bay 11, featuring a diamond tread steel plate, yellow toe guards, and black dock bumpers. The Metrodock system is engineered for high-cycle applications, offering hydraulic actuation and robust pit frame construction for consistent leveling across trailer heights. This was paired with a ribbed steel industrial sectional overhead door with two vision panels, ensuring the dock bay is ready for safe, efficient, high-volume operation. DANGER caution tape was used throughout the installation to maintain safety in the active facility.
Outcomes
The dock bay was fully commissioned with both leveler and door operational. The hydraulic Metrodock leveler provides consistent powered dock positioning, while vision panels ensure forklift operator sightlines before the door opens. Bay 11 now contributes to full facility throughput from day one, with safety protocols maintained throughout the installation.
