A loading dock bay in Scarborough needed a high-speed door that could do more than just cycle quickly. The rubber curtain can absorb significant impact events — contact from forklifts, clips from trailers during positioning, and equipment brushes during loading operations — and recover its profile without damage that requires repair. This self-recovery capability is the defining feature that sets rubber high-speed doors apart from fabric alternatives in heavy-use dock environments.

The door cycles at the speed the application requires while handling the physical punishment of the dock environment without degrading. The Hörmann unit was specified for the dock bay dimensions and cycle frequency, with the activation and safety system configured for the traffic patterns at this loading area.

Impact-related service calls at the dock bay were eliminated following the Hörmann rubber door installation.
